Matthew Goldsack

General Manager - Investments

Matthew leads the investment function at Trust Investments, bringing over two decades of experience in institutional and retail funds management. He is responsible for setting the firm’s investment strategy and overseeing portfolio outcomes for clients.


Before joining Trust Investments in 2020, Matthew was Head of Investment Solutions at BT Funds Management (NZ), the Westpac-owned multi-asset manager responsible for over $14 billion in KiwiSaver and other investment portfolios. His leadership covered both direct investment in domestic fixed interest and cash, as well as a global multi-manager platform selecting best-in-class managers. Earlier in his career, he held senior roles at AXA Global Investors and Arcus Investment Management, with a focus on portfolio construction and manager research.


Matthew is passionate about aligning investment excellence with long-term purpose. He believes strong governance and thoughtful capital stewardship are essential to helping investors charities achieve lasting impact.

Halie Hartigan

Investment Manager

Halie is an Investment Manager at Trust Investments, where she leads investment manager research and due diligence for charitable and for-purpose clients. Halie has over 15 years of experience in responsible investment and diversified portfolio construction. Before joining Trust Investments in 2022, Halie spent a decade at ASB Group Investments, where she led the firm’s responsible investment strategy, and several years prior at BT Funds Management (the investment arm of Westpac). Her work has consistently focused on embedding Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) considerations into investment decision-making.


Halie holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation as well as the Accredited Investment Fiduciary (AIF) designation, working closely with nonprofit organisations to document robust investment governance frameworks, construct well balanced investment portfolios and navigate the evolving responsible investment landscape, to protect and grow their financial resources to support positive impact in communities.

Cindy Gao

Portfolio Analyst

Cindy is a Portfolio Analyst at Trust Investments, supporting day-to-day portfolio operations and investment reporting for nonprofit and for-purpose clients. Her work spans client portfolio monitoring, market analysis, trade implementation, and support for manager selection and fund oversight.


She joined the firm in 2023 and brings a strong academic foundation with a Master of Business in Finance, a Master of Arts in Documentary, and a Bachelor of Arts in Film, TV and Media Studies. Cindy is currently pursuing the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation with the support of Trust Investments.


With a thoughtful and analytical approach, Cindy contributes to the delivery of high-integrity investment solutions that reflect both financial rigour and a commitment to positive impact.

Catherine Bodnar

Investments Analyst

Catherine is an Investment Analyst at Trust Investments, specialising in ESG and climate risk analysis. Her work supports values-aligned portfolio strategies for clients in the charitable and for-purpose sectors.


Catherine brings a unique blend of analytical and governance experience, having previously worked at Foundation North with its executive and board to guide impactful philanthropic strategy. She is co-chair of the RIAA Aotearoa Collaborative Working Group and served as board secretariat for the Rule Foundation, an organisation advocating for rainbow and takatāpui communities.


Catherine holds a Bachelor of Science in Statistics and is completing a Graduate Diploma in Actuarial Science. She has also studied Te Reo Māori through Unitec’s Kura Pō programme, reflecting her commitment to inclusive and culturally grounded practice.


Driven by a deep belief in the intersection of finance, justice, and community impact, Catherine supports clients in building resilient, purpose-led investment portfolios.

Mark Longbottom

Head of Community Engagement

Mark is Head of Community Engagement at Trust Investments, where he helps connect investment strategy to the missions of charities, trusts, and for-purpose organisations across Aotearoa and beyond. He brings over 40 years of experience in the nonprofit and philanthropic sectors, including leadership roles at the Prince’s Trust, St. James’s Place Charitable Foundation, Auckland Foundation, and Heart Kids NZ.


Mark’s career has focused on empowering young people and strengthening the work of mission-driven organisations. At Trust Investments, he ensures that the firm’s community partnerships are informed, collaborative, and focused on long-term impact.


He also serves as Chairperson of the Aotearoa NZ Online Giving Foundation and is a board member of disability charity Project Employ, which supports young people with learning disabilities into meaningful employment. Mark is the host of the Purposely Podcast — New Zealand’s #1 nonprofit podcast — where he has interviewed over 250 changemakers from around the world who are driving positive societal and environmental change.


Mark is a passionate advocate for philanthropy as well as purpose-led finance and believes that investment capital, when well-managed, can be a powerful tool for social impact.
